My mind goes to 1996, watching “The Preacher’s Wife” and listening to Whitney Houston croon: I love the Lord, He heard my cry and pitied every groan, long as I live and troubles rise, I’ll hasten to His throne.
At times we get so caught up in our own busy schedules that we forget about the Lord and all He’s done for us. We forget about how He comforts our lonely hearts at night. How He pays a bill when money is beyond tight. How He heals a cancer that others have died from. How He protects when we find ourselves in dangerous situations.
Because we are His and He loves us, He never forgets about us. He isn’t that parent who cut you off because you were a disappointment. He’s not that best friend that drifted from you. He’s not that “one” that broke your heart. God is not a man. He’ll never leave. We’re not too dirty, too ugly, too worthless, too broken, too guilty for Him. He desires us and nothing can separate us from Him.
He hears us and meets our needs. He’s just waiting for us to reach out to Him, to run back to Him. He’s waiting to hear from you.

Psalm 116: 1-2 (AMP) I love the Lord, because He hears [and continues to hear] my voice and my supplications (my pleas, my cries, my specific needs).
Psalm 116: 1-2 (TLB) I love the Lord because he hears my prayers and answers them. Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I breathe!
