Do you have a song of praise on standby? With all God has done, we shouldn’t be Eeyore Believers. The few times I watched Winnie the Pooh growing up I used to hate to see Eeyore coming. He talked incredibly slow, never seemed to have any good news, and always looked unbelievably sad. He was the storm cloud you could see in the distance and dreaded its coming. I wanted to yell, “CHEER UP, DUDE! Come on! Geez!”

Are we ever like that? In spite of all God has done, do we mope around, point out the bad, and overlook the numerous blessings that have continued to blow our minds? We should have an attitude of cheer and gladness. We should be overwhelmed and intoxicated with joy simply because of who the Lord is.

Make it your goal to thank Him daily –even for the small things. Aspire to have a song of praise on your lips daily. When you have words like “Looked beyond our wrong / Saw just what we need / We are alive now / By Your name we’re free” or “Hold on tight, it’s about to be amazing / When you see what God is making / I can’t wait for you to tell me that it’s alright”, it makes things a little easier to get through. It focuses your mind on His power, might, and strength instead of the challenges surrounding you in life. It uplifts your heart and brings peace in the middle of storms. Get lost in praising Him. Immerse yourself in His wonders. Make God smile with your praise and gratitude.

Psalm 95: 1-2 (AMP) O come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with songs.

Psalm 95: 1-2 (MSG) Come, let’s shout praises to God, raise the roof for the Rock who saved us! Let’s march into his presence singing praises, lifting the rafters with our hymns!
