You know the quote: You live and you learn.
Fortunately, many of people have come before us, made the mistakes, and can give us the lesson learned … if we listen. Often, we get caught in the “I’m grown, it’s my life” mentality and we fail to heed wise words of others. Can you think of some sage advice you ignored but now you wished you had listened to? I know I can.
Proverbs 15: 32 (AMP) says that a person who “who neglects and ignores instruction and discipline despises himself”. God has blessed us with this body and this life. It is our job to be good stewards. Not listening to beneficial words shows our disregard for what He has entrusted to us. Listening and applying prudent words helps us to live more fruitful lives.
Surround yourself with words of the wise and not the folly of fools.

Proverbs 15: 31-32 (AMP) The ear that listens to and learns from the life-giving rebuke (reprimand, censure) will remain among the wise. He who neglects and ignores instruction and discipline despises himself, but he who learns from rebuke acquires understanding [and grows in wisdom].
