Paul told the Church of Ephesus a key that holds true today. In Ephesians 6:12 (KJV), he told them that they’re not going up “against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. What we as Believers oh so often forget is that our eyes don’t see everything going on around us. Sometimes we get so involved in the routine of our natural lives that we forget that we are literally in the midst of a war or as the Message Bible puts it: a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.
Satan is not content with being condemned, so he wants others to join him. What’s the saying? Misery loves company. Why should he be the only one to suffer for eternity if he can have company? John 10:10 tells us that Satan’s mission on earth is to steal, kill, and destroy. Our eyes get so focused on the people that he’s using that we get distracted from him – the real enemy.
Instead of being upset and complaining about what people are doing around us and to us, we must look with our spiritual eyes and recognize the enemy’s tactics. Was this done to distract me from my purpose? Why attack me? Was this an attempt to weaken me in God? Hmm, so what’s Satan really afraid of? He’s afraid that our growing stronger in God will allow us “to successfully stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 AMP).
Don’t underestimate the enemy. Don’t underestimate yourself. Draw closer to God through fasting, prayer, and His word so that you can be strengthened in truth, righteousness, peace, and faith. Do what you need to stand strong against Satan. #BeAwareOfTheRealEnemy#ThankHimThursday

Ephesians 6: 12 (AMP) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
Ephesians 6: 12 (MSG) This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.
